The season-opener against Reading is just over a month away and City Ground boss Colin Calderwood is happy with his summer business in the transfer market.
He told the club's official website: "We are getting there but we knew we would.
"The important thing is that we are getting the people we wanted.
"We are in a nice situation. We had a good finish to last season and we're in something new and exciting to us all and we've got ambition to be one step further up the footballing ladder."
Opening-day opponents Reading are confident of holding on to their star players as they look for an immediate return to the Premier League.
"Yes, there have been some written offers but, I repeat and emphasise,
we have no financial need to sell anybody," said manager Steve Coppell, quoted in the Reading Chronicle recently.
