Winger Paul Anderson has urged Nottingham Forest to bring more depth into their squad if Billy Davies' men are to launch another promotion push.
Forest used only 25 players in securing an impressive third place in the Championship last year, compared to the respective 33 and 36 used by champions Newcastle and runners-up West Brom.
"We did really well last season with such a small squad," Anderson told the Nottingham Evening Post.
"People seem to think that we spent a lot of money but that was a bit of a misconception because we still had one of the smallest squads in the league.
"I think we used fewer players than anyone, certainly in the top half of the table.
"I hope we can bring in a couple of extra players to add to the squad this time around and, at the same time, hopefully we will not lose too many."
