Anderson was diagnosed with a punctured lung and fractured ribs suffered in a 4-1 defeat at Leeds last month.
But he returned ahead of schedule to score in Saturday's 5-1 win over Scunthorpe to help establish a three-point advantage and six-goal cushion over Leeds, virtually ensuring a play-off spot.
Anderson said: "It was disappointing for me and I did fear the worst after it happened - I thought that was my season gone.
"Luckily it's all healed up very well and I'm back.
"The play-offs aren't mathematically done, so we have to focus on the next game and hopefully go into the play-offs on the back of a strong run."
