Milton Keynes had 66% of the possession during the game, leading their manager Karl Robinson to say afterwards: "I thought we dominated territorially," which the visitors clearly did, albeit in chasing the game after two early Forest strikes from Oliveira and Mendes.
Dropping back a bit deeper can be a trait of a side who have taken a two-goal lead and statistics can mislead but each of Forest's four home wins have been achieved with the away side similarly having more of the ball.
Against Derby County, after another early goal for the Reds, the possession stats showed 66% for the Rams while Reading (who took the lead themselves) had 56% and Fulham (where the game was goalless until just before half-time) 57%.
Dougie Freedman's side clearly know their individual jobs and work hard without the ball to make things difficult for the opposition but they are starting to show more of a cutting edge in attack with Oliveira in particular settling down to life in the Championship.
