Saturday's hard-fought victory against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough ensured that Stuart Pearce's Nottingham Forest remained unbeaten throughout the manager's first month of competitive fixtures and sit produly atop the Championship table going into the international break.
Under Billy Davies in 2013/14 the Reds made a solid start albeit losing their first game at the end of August in a 2-1 defeat at Wigan Athletic.Five league games saw Davies' side score seven goals, cutting loose in a 3-0 victory against Bolton Wanderers at the City Ground.
Forest only conceded three goals in those five games, keeping a trio of clean sheets. This season they have exactly the same defensive record but have netted eleven times at the other end.
Although they are not in action now until September 14th, Pearce's men will play six times between then and the end of September in a run of weekend-midweek-weekend games that will test the squad to the full. It all starts with the visit of Derby County to the City Ground.
