Barlow said afterwards: "Walsall made it very difficult for us in the second half and deserve a lot of credit for that.
"It was disappointing and frustrating, but being a goal down against 10 men it was important to equalise and give ourselves the chance to get a winner in the second half.
"We did a lot of good things and there were plusses for us in the match, but at the end we were left disappointed and frustrated.
"Walsall's defence got some great encouragement from the saves their goalkeeper (Joe Murphy) made in the first half and in all honesty we needed more creativity in the final third of the pitch."
