Saturday's 1-1 draw with Gillingham was the Reds' fourth game unbeaten under caretaker manager's Ian McParland and Frank Barlow and Bennett told the Evening Post: "We are starting to show the kind of standards that are going to be needed to put together a promotion push next season.
"We are unbeaten in the last four and if we carry on that kind of form next season, we are not going to have a problem at all.
"We have the best squad and the best team in the league. It is just a question of getting the points on the board."
He added: "There is a very positive atmosphere (at the City Ground), definitely. The lads are buzzing all the time, with the fans behind us."
