The game has been spiced up by the excellent recent form of both sides, making the East Midlands battle a match-up between 3rd and 4th in the Championship.
"It's only December and you don't win anything in December," said Davies.
"It's just another game along the way for us but hopefully, further into the season, we will be involved in what you might call some 'big games.'
"For the fans it's an important game as regards the bragging rights, but for me it's only an important game because it is the next game and the next game is always the most important."
