Bruce, whose side lost 2-1 at home to Charlton on Monday night, will be looking to bolster his squad in January - in similar fashion to last season when the likes of Christophe Dugarry arrived at St Andrews.
Charlton, Leicester and Tottenham are other names that have been linked with the tricky Irishman but Forest manager Paul Hart has emphasised he is under no pressure to sell anyone.
