Colin Calderwood has said that Northampton Town defender Luke Chambers is a player he would like to bring to the City Ground.
The 20-year-old has attracted interest from a higher level with his displays under Calderwood for the Cobblers and the new City Ground boss said: "He is a young player with experience.
"He has developed well and he does have potential.
"They are the kind of players you should be looking at."
Calderwood however knows that he has inherited a squad assembled at no small cost by predecessor Gary Megson and added: "I am not going to rush into anything.
"I have told the lads they will have a fresh start, that they will all have a clean slate.
"We have a lot of players at Forest, a good squad and it is only fair that I assess them before we start signing new players."
