Rovers go into the game on the back of a 3-0 reverse at Everton on Sunday, after which manager Sam Allardyce bemoaned their away form.
"I think we were poor to be honest," he said.
"We've got no resilience away from home."
Blackburn have lost both of their league games away from Ewood Park this season, although they did win 3-1 at Gillingham in the 2nd Round of the League Cup.
The two sides last met in February 2001, goals from Chris Bart-Williams and Chris Edwards giving Forest a 2-1 victory in the Championship at the City Ground.
