While it looks as though the Kuwaiti purchase of NFFC looks to be going ahead sooner rather than later it is already 'make your mind up' time for Chambers after receiving what he has called a 'very good' offer from Ipswich Town.
Having undergone a medical at Portman Road already Chambers asked the Suffolk club for more time to make his decision.
That however is though to be as he waits for potential bids from elsewhere rather Steve Cotterill being able to come through with a contract offer for his former captain.
'It is not the manager's fault,' Chambers told the Nottingham Post.
'His hands are tied.
'But, until the takeover is completed, nothing is certain. It might be that the new owners have different ideas. They might not fancy me. They might have different targets in mind.
'If that happens, I could be left high and dry. I have hung on and hung on all summer.'
Former loan defender Greg Cunningham meanwhile will be playing in the Championship for Bristol City next season after they agreed a deal with Manchester City for his services.
