The 20-year-old, who scored five goals in six games on loan at Watford last season, has fallen further down the St. James' pecking order following the arrival of Michael Bridges and the return to fitness of Shola Ameobi and Craig Bellamy.
Paul Hart told Forest's official website: "He’s quick, loves scoring goals and is the kind of player who can improve the squad."
Chopra is likely to play some part of Forest's home clash against Coventry on Saturday and his loan deal could well get extended until the end of the season if he impresses the Reds' chief.
