The Derby boss felt that 'there was anything in' Saturday's East Midlands clash and that the game was destined to end in a goalless draw.
"There was a breakaway down the left and the ball has come across," said the ex-City Ground forward.
"As an ex-striker I would tend to say it was an extremely good finish, he's hit it from 20 yards and unfortunately it's finished in our bottom corner."
Billy Davies purred "It was a great finish and a first-class goal," while reiterating the need for new faces to be added to his squad if they are to continue a recent charge up the table.
The Reds lie 6th in the Championship with games in hand on all of the sides above them.
