The former Pompey manager faces his old club this weekend having guided Nottingham Forest to a third win in four games against Reading on Tuesday night.
A host of names have been linked with his old job, including Eddie Howe and Ole Gunnar Solksjaer while ex-Doncaster Rovers manager Sean O'Driscoll is the favourite.
Reports suggest that the midweek draw against Crystal Palace will be the last time that caretaker duo Guy Whittingham and Stuart Gray take charge but Whittingham has heard nothing yet.
"I know nothing at all," said the Pompey favourite.
"I have heard what everyone else has and seen what is written in the papers or on the internet. That is all we have heard, nothing else at all.
"To be honest, for us it doesn't matter because we will prepare for Nottingham Forest at home on Saturday. That is all we have done game-by-game, so to us it doesn't matter when it happens."
