Steve Cotterill is the new man in charge at Ashton Gate after the recent sacking of Sean O'Driscoll. The pair worked together at the City Ground before O'Driscoll stepped up into the hotseat last summer.
Cotterill's reputation as something of a managerial firefighter, forged in adversity at Portsmouth, goes before him and he will be looking to revive the fortunes of a City side languishing near the foot of League One.
"If I don't turn this one around, it will be the only one I haven't," he said after his appointment on Tuesday.
"And I've been in charge of a few big clubs - Forest were going down quicker than the Titanic.
"I turned that one around. It wasn't immediate, I went in there at the same sort of period, the back end of November when the [transfer] window was shut and you couldn't do anything in regards to players."
