Davies delighted as Forest make their point

Forest's defence has been the subject of much scrutiny this summer as Davies looks for new signings at the back but they held firm at the Madejski Stadium and also survived a late red card.

Davies told the official club website: "I thought our work ethic, discipline and organisation was first class."

Last season also began for the Reds with a 0-0 against the Royals but the greater strength in depth of Davies' squad, which he hopes to add to further before the deadline, bodes well for a better campaign at the City Ground.
