Nottingham Forest forwards Garath McCleary and Nathan Tyson may need knee operations.
Boss Billy Davies hopes to avoid surgery and named both players on the bench against Ipswich on Saturday despite their injuries. However, the Scot insists that cannot continue.
"Nathan has a knee injury, which we are very concerned about. Garath has tendonitis in his knee," said Davies. "We will see very shortly what is going on with those two. The medical people are concerned they might need operations but we are trying to avoid that if we can.
"The advice from the medical people is we might be able to avoid it but, as things drag on, we are getting to the point where we might not have any choice."
