Having seen his side get the slice of luck he had been hoping for with a fortunate opening goal, the Scot endured a nervous night on the sidelines as a cracking Championship clash went the way of home side Norwich City.
Davies, who pointed the finger at Guy Moussi for both the Canaries' goals, said afterwards: "We should have got something. It was a great spectacle I thought the whole game, particularly Forest in the first half, I thought we really played some wonderful stuff."
The Reds must now watch and wait for Saturday's results but their manager believes it is still all to play in the fight for a top six finish.
He added, speaking to Sky Sports: "The one thing that we've got here is a great spirit the staff and players and we've got a great work ethic.
"If we keep getting what we're getting we can ask no more and you see tonight and this is a group of players who have a wonderful attitude."
