Nottingham Forest manager Paul Hart is hopeful of securing the loan transfer of Darren Huckerby this week.
The pacey 26-year-old was among the crowd as Forest beat Crystal Palace 2-1 on Saturday and it is thought he is keen on the move.
Hart said: "We are expecting to talk to Darren and his representatives this week and we hope to finalise everything."
Forest are also believed to have first refusal on Huckerby should they gain promotion to The Premiership.
Coventry and Leicester have fallen out of the race for his signature as they cannot afford the loan fee and wages. Celtic were unable to complete a loan move before the transfer window deadline but could be interested at the end of the season should Forest remain in the First Division.
