Odense BK finished 6th in the Danish Superleague in the season just ended. Formed as cricket club in 1887 they switched to football two seasons later and have been champions of Denmark on three occasions.
Regulars in European competition, the high point of Odense's history was probably the 2-0 victory over Real Madrid in a UEFA Cup tie in the 1994/95 season.
V Slagelse currently ply their trade in the third tier of the Danish game, Division 2 East and should provide a less stern test for the Reds after their opening two games.
