The former England international made his last Forest appearance as a substitute at Wigan on the opening day of the season and has taken some time away from the game since leaving the City Ground after Gary Megson's arrival at the club.

Walker, who has a star-studded testimonial match coming up this month said: "This summer, I'm going to get myself fit and then decide exactly what I'm going to do.

"I'll see the offers I've got as a few people have asked me if I want to come back and play.

"For me, it's playing football, not necessarily the level, it's playing football.

"I don't know if the body will keep going but I might give it a go."
