Steve McClaren celebrated his first league win as Nottingham Forest manager on Tuesday night as his side gained a narrow success at Doncaster Rovers and afterwards praised the 'work ethic' of his players.
"We were disappointing on Saturday and we asked for a reaction.
"Our back five were magnificent."
Chris Gunter was the match-winner for the Reds at the Keepmoat Stadium, netting their first Championship goal of the season just after half-an-hour.
New signings Matt Derbyshire and Ishmael Miller both made their debuts, Miller as a second-half substitute.
The win sets up a tasty looking East Midlands derby at the City Ground on Saturday as Leicester City visit in a meeting of two former England managers which is likely to attract plenty of media attention.
