With the new management team of Stuart Pearce, Brian Eastick and Steve Wigley having worked extensively with England teams at Under-21 level and below and also in club youth football in Wigley's case, players such as 18-year-old Grimes are likely to be on Forest's radar in addition to those who will be able to come straight into the first team.
The midfielder was a regular for Exeter during the 2013/14 season and Grecians director of football Steve Perryman is expecting some interest in the player as next season progresses.
He told the Exeter Express & Echo: “He is a very talented boy and we think he is the best player we have ever produced. Technically, he is the best player we have produced since I have been here."
