Having continued their unbeaten record with a 3-1 victory against Yeovil on Sunday, Billy Davies' side extended the gap between themselves and the play-off chasing pack to seven points.
Looking upwards, with Queens Park Rangers not in action until Monday evening at Derby, Forest can put the pressure on by beating the struggling Seasiders.
Assistant manager David Kelly took a leaf out of Davies' book after the game, insisting that the focus was now on the midweek FA Cup replay against Preston North End.
"We're not talking about promotion," he said.
Yeovil manager Gary Johnson, meanwhile, felt the Glovers had Forest 'on the ropes' when they trailed at 2-1 but insisted that his side, six points adrift of safety, have not given up just yet.
