The 19-year-old has been watched by a number of Premiership clubs after bursting onto the scene at the Bescot Stadium.

Fryatt, who scored against Forest last week, is rated at £1m by the Saddlers but his contract expires next summer and they may choose to accept a bid now rather than go to a tribunal.

Forest chief executive Mark Arthur confirmed: "We have made a substantial offer for the player."
