After the disappointment of away defeats at Coventry and Doncaster Rovers, Billy Davies will look for his side to regain their momentum in a couple of big games on the banks of the Trent.
Tuesday night's clash with Sheffield United sees a Blades side buoyed by their return to form against Bristol City at the weekend.
"I thought everyone played really, really well," said manager Kevin Blackwell after the game, which saw a 2-0 win for his side.
"We used the ball intelligently and moved well off it. When you see us go out and look like that then it makes you realise our biggest problem this season is going to be keeping everybody fit.
"If we can do that then we've got every chance."
After Sheffield United it is Middlesbrough's turn to face the Reds. They too gained an important win at the weekend although their boss Gordon Strachan was far from happy.
"The standard wasn’t really acceptable, that’s for sure," he admitted after a laboured success over bottom club Peterborough United.
