Fryatt is out of contract at the end of the season and although he is set to be offered a new deal at the Bescot Stadium, told the Express & Star:
"When I came back for pre-season I was really keen and I started off well but the last two weeks have been a bit of a distraction because of all the speculation.
"I just wanted to get on with my football but it was hard with everybody talking about this and that.
"Deep down, I didn't know anything at all. I think that situation affected me and it would have been much better if somebody could have just told me I was definitely going or definitely staying.
"I feel as if there has been a weight lifted off my shoulders now and I can just get on with enjoying my football.
"I definitely want to play in The Championship and I am hoping for a move to that level but for now I just want to score goals."
