34 at the end of this month, Lagos-born Adebola made his name under Dario Gradi at Crewe, earning himself a big-money move to Birmingham City in 1998.
After four-and-a-half years at St Andrews, Adebola had an unproductive spell with Crystal Palace and was similarly drifting at Coventry City, being loaned out to both Burney and Bradford.
It was his time at Valley Parade that seemed to reinvigorate the player and he returned to Coventry, helping them avoid the drop in 2005 and the following season, forming part of an exciting forward combination that included another Forest target, Gary McSheffrey.
With his Sky Blues contract running out, Adebola joined Bristol City in January 2008 and last season, was voted player of the year at Ashton Gate.
