Although he was without Michail Antonio as a move away from the City Ground draws closer, Freedman opted to take the positives from a goalless draw which saw Reds keeper Dorus de Vries earn plenty of praise for his performance.
Tyler Walker, Jorge Grant and Oliver Burke were in action at the final whistle and Freedman said: "If Forest fans see their young players, their own players running around, they will love it.
"These players are only going to get better. We have young Ben Osborn coming through the ranks as well."
Opposite number Guy Luzon commented: "Their keeper is the man of the match without question. He saves showed how much we dominated; how well we played."
