The 19-year-old, subject of a 'substantial' bid from the Reds today, started his professional career with Walsall in the summer of 2002.
His senior debut came against Bolton in the League Cup in September 2003 before a loan spell with Carlisle United saw him score his first league goal against Boston United in January the following year.
Fryatt then made a number of appearances at Championship level for Walsall in the remainder of the 03/04 season.
After relegation to League One he became a first team regular, scoring 15 goals last season.
He really came to prominence this summer, scoring four times for England's under-19's as they came second in the European Championship.
