The Reds keeper took 47% of the vote to finish ahead of Gareth Taylor and Paul Evans.
Gerrard said: "It's an honour to be recognised by the supporters in such a fashion.
"It's just a shame it has come at the end of a dreadful season.
"It's a pretty obvious thing for me to say considering we have been relegated but no one has been outstanding for us this season.
"Those fans who have voted for me have at least realised I have tried to do my best every time I've gone out there.
"Things may not always have gone right but it wasn't down to a lack of effort."
