However, manager Paul Hart was disappointed not to have moved into fourth spot after Forest were held to a 2-2 draw and refused to talk about the clubs promotion chances this season.

"We passed the ball well but didn't get the ball in behind Stoke enough to hurt them," Hart said after the game at The Britannia Stadium.

"We're doing well and doing the right things but it's a long hard season and you won't hear me making any rash predictions or hyping up our chances of promotion.

"We didn't intentionally sit back in the second half."
