Hart's name in the frame?

Terry Venables has left Leeds United by mutual consent triggering rumours that Paul Hart could take the hotseat in the summer.

Leeds chairman Peter Risdale has appointed former Sunderland boss Peter Reid until the end of the season but it is believed another man will be in charge come the start of the 2003/2004 season.

Bookmakers William Hill have Hart as 6-1 third favourite behind Leeds assistant Eddie Gray and Leicester manager Micky Adams. Other names in the frame are the fans' favourite Gordan Strachan and former Reds midfielder Martin O'Neill.

Hart was of course a successful coach at the Leeds Youth Academy that has seen the likes of Paul Robinson, Harry Kewell and Alan Smith come onto the scene at both domestic and international level.

But whether Hart would be interested in the job remains to be seen. I suspect a lot will depend on if Forest get promotion to The Premiership via the playoffs.

For those who like a flutter on the underdog, outsider or even the ridiculous then David O'Leary is 50-1 and Howard Wilkinson is 25-1 (William Hill)
