The post-match talk revolved around a penalty claim from the home side when Forest defender Nicky Shorey looked to have handled in stoppage time.
"I've seen it six times (on the video) but the first reaction is always the one that you look at to start with and it was amazement," said Watford manager Malky Mackay of the decision not to give his side a spot-kick.
"Everyone was exactly the same and I think when so many people are amazed then it's usually the case."
For the Reds meanwhile it was another solid away display in a game in which Billy Davies felt they had the better chances.
"But it's a very good point away from home," he added.
"It keeps the run going, 15 undefeated, another clean sheet and another very good test for this young side."
