The experienced Rogers fell dramatically out of favour with ex-Reds boss Gary Megson at the start of the season, and was placed on the transfer list.
He made a loan move to the KC Stadium in January and has performed well as Hull have secured safety in the Championship.
Tigers manager Peter Taylor told the Hull Daily Mail: "He's got another year left at Forest so a lot of it is down to Alan speaking with them to see what's happening there.
"I would like to see him here next year and he knows I would like him to stay.
"He's shown a great attitude, been great with the rest of the boys and shown great experience - that's the most important thing."
