Nottingham Forest begin the countdown to the 2006/07 season this Friday when they take on Ilkeston Town at the New Manor Ground.
Managed by former Reds favourite Nigel Jemson, who is still registered as a player, the Robins will again be competing in the Unibond League Premier Division next season, two steps away from a place in the Conference.
Jemson guided Ilkeston to safety after taking over last season but in the best tradtitions of a man who played under Brian Clough is looking to bring a more attractive style of football to the New Manor Ground this season.
He said recently: "We had to scrap for points but I want us to get it down and play.
"No-one likes pre-season training and I know it is a slog but it's up to us to make it as enjoyable as possible.
"It's tough but it's a case of everyone helping everyone else with the same ambition - to get success for this club."
