The Reds staged a stirring late comeback to win 3-2 at the City Ground on Saturday and continue their upward momentum under Steve Cotterill.
Opposite number Jewell commented: "Immediately after a game you always stand a chance of saying something that you will regret but certain things had to be said afterwards and I said them.
"At 2-1 we should have been able to see the game out but we were trying to do fancy things when we needed to take the sensible option and just close it out.
"We conceded three bad goals from our point of view but I suppose Forest will look at the goals we scored and think exactly the same.
"I've just been reminded that it is our fourth successive defeat but I am sure the fans who came from Ipswich to watch us this afternoon will have seen that it was a much better performance."
