"Every game is an opportunity to pick up points," he told the Doncaster Free Press.
"Just because it's Christmas it doesn't make it any different - it is another game.
"Any run of form will catapult you up the league table and that's what we are striving for."
Rovers have been playing well without getting any reward for much of the season and know that Forest can establish a gap on them if they win the game.
O'Driscoll added: "Every game is a six pointer for us because we have got to pick up as many points as we can.
"But earning points against the teams around us is vital."
