Currently one place above Nottingham Forest in the Championship table, City would have had a bigger cushion over the Reds if they had not conceded an injury-time equaliser to Scunthorpe.
"It is done and that is football," defender Robbie Neilson told the Leicester Mercury.
"We are now focused on the game next week.
"We have conceded a last-minute goal and we are devastated but that is life and we just have to get on with it."
The last league meeting between the two sides at the City Ground took place in December 2004 when a late leveller of their own earned Leicester a point after Michael Dawson, linked with a return to Forest this week, had put the home side in front.
