Forest boss Gary Megson was delighted that his side, down to ten men for the whole of the second-half, did not fall apart as so often has happened away from home this season.
He said: "When we went down to 10 men we had to change things and I thought we defended magnificently.
"We showed real character and this is a valuable point gained."
Megson's opppsite number, Martin Allen had urged Brentford to bounce back from their 4-1 defeat at Southend last weekend and felt his side had more than done that.
"We restricted Forest to just one shot in open play and I thought we were superb," he said.
"We played with passion and determination. We were fast and strong and at times we played with real quality and created enough chances to have won the game comfortably."
