The Forest boss has received no offers for any of his five transfer-listed players and while he has some 'irons in the fire' himself does not expect any business to be done in the short-term.
"There is very little going on at the moment because people are away, whether they are managers or players," he said.
"I think it is going to take a bit of time to get going this year.
"A lot of teams are coming back early, like ourselves. It's almost the earliest I can remember.
"And I think that is going to be the time when things really start moving."
