Regardless of that, something has gone seriously wrong in the last two games with the cautious optimism that had been building up under Megson now having been blown apart.
League One football looks increasingly likely and Megson said: "There needs to be a complete overhaul here because this is a very big football club and something has to be done.
"The immediate future is about the five games we have to play and still having a belief that we can do something about it.
"But we know it will need a miracle to turn things around.
"I'm new to the place but I've been astounded by some of the things that have gone on."
