Dougie Freedman told the first press conference since his surprise appointment that he was going to concentrate his energy on the training ground in a bid to revive the Reds' hopes of being promoted this season.
"I'm going to keep a low profile and make sure they (the players) understand what it means to play for Nottingham Forest," he told the official club website.
"That is my objective from now until the end of the season."
Veteran manager Lennie Lawrence is set to be appointed as Freedman's number two shortly.
