The terms of the transfer embargo imposed at the City Ground have not stopped Dougie Freedman from being mentioned as an interested party in a whole host of players.
They range from goalkeepers (Richard O'Donnell on the back of an excellent season with Walsall in League One), through defenders (Matt Mills after his release by Bolton Wanderers) and midfielders (former loanee Gary Gardner as he waits for a decision on his Aston Villa future) to forwards (Jamie Ward, free to leave Derby this summer).
It's always good to see the rumour mill in full swing and with Freedman keen to get at least one new signing into his squad before the end of May there will hopefully be some concrete news on incoming players shortly.
Update: BBC East Midlands Today reports on Tuesday that talks are taking place with Ward over a deal at the City Ground.
