Indications are that Michail Antonio will leave the City Ground for the Premier League while there may also be other departures on the frantic, final day of transfer trading.
That will leave a race against time for Dougie Freedman to get some additional numbers into his squad ahead of what is shaping up to be a hard season.
Names in the frame include Lille winger Ryan Mendes, Crystal Palace midfielder Jonathan Williams and Brighton & Hove Albion striker Chris O'Grady but as of Tuesday morning no deals in or out had been confirmed by the club.
Update: As of 3pm there has been no confirmed ins or outs although Antonio appears to be edging closer and closer to joining West Ham United.
One deal that has been done concerns the Reds in a roundabout way as Fulham have completed the signing of defender Richard Stearman from Wolverhampton Wanderers on a three-year deal which would look to have ended their interest in Michael Mancienne.
