Friday night games bookend the next set of fixtures as Nottingham Forest travel to Bristol City, currently bottom of the table, on 16 October before ending the spell at home to local rivals Derby County on 6 November.
In between they will attempt to improve on their poor City Ground form in back-to-back matches against Burnley and Ipswich Town before trips to Sheffield Wednesday and Preston.
Derby's visit will take the Reds past the one-third mark of a season that could still go one of two ways depending on how you view recent displays.
Dougie Freedman felt his side were 'magnificent' in defeat against Hull and captain Henri Lansbury spoke of a change in luck being what Forest needed.
Will the next six games bear them out?
