Both sides will be keen to sign off before the international break with a victory and the Reds will be determined to get back on the scoresheet after three consecutive goalless draws in the league.
Stuart Pearce's side remain undefeated however and the manager said this week that to have that record with so many new faces on board is pleasing.
Quoted in the Nottingham Post he said: "We are also acutely aware of how we must improve and keep improving. But we have the attitude within the squad to keep doing that."
Ipswich currently lie 5th in the table and reports in East Anglia this week have drawn attention to how little money Mick McCarthy has spent in comparison to Pearce.
"Listen, if someone gives you money, you are going to spend it," said McCarthy.
"But I don’t care about what everyone else is doing, I am happy with my lads, and what we are doing."
