Nottingham Forest Versus Barnsley

Last updated : 14 September 2013 By Forest

Nottingham Forest returned to action after the international break with a home fixture against Barnsley on Saturday afternoon.

The game was the Reds' first without Adelene Guedioura following his deadline switch to Crystal Palace but, the midfielder aside, Billy Davies had a full squad to choose from and told the official NFFC website: "It is nice to go into this game with a clean bill of health."

International week, however, had dealt Barnsley a blow as their on-loan striker Marcus Pedersen suffered a gashed foot when playing for Norway that is set to rule him out of action for a few weeks.

Team News: Simon Cox and Guy Moussi started the game in place of Greg Halford and the departed Guedioura.

Loan signing Peter Ramage was handed his Barnsley debut.

1st Half: Cox paid his manager back for the call to the starting XI with an 18th minute strike to give Forest the lead but O'Grady levelled almost straight away with a penalty for the visitors.

An Etuthu own goal put the Reds back in front on the stroke of half-time.

2nd Half: Substitute Cywka took just 5 minutes to make an impact when he brought Barnsley back on level terms midway through the second half but it was a man who came from the Forest bench who had the final say as Darius Henderson netted the winner with 6 minutes left on the clock.

21,181 watched the action as the Reds moved into third place in the Championship table.
