He said: "Some of the comments have lacked a bit of common sense recently so, although I am not asking supporters to be careful with their comments, they have slightly misjudged some of their calls to the players.

"We have got a wonderful young talent in Lewis McGugan who gave the ball away in our match at Brentford on Saturday and immediately there is a negative reaction - but it should not be like that, it is not necessary.

"This is an education for the supporters as much as it is an education for us as players and manager."
